What is Vortex Shift?

Vortex Shift is a fast, free arcade roguelite browser game. Your ship endlessly circles a neon core on one of several orbit rings: jump between rings to collect gems, fill each level's quota, and dodge four types of mines. Every cleared level lets you draft one of three upgrades and adds a new orbit - and every fifth orbit is guarded by a boss that warps the rules until you bring it down. One ship, one life… unless you earn a second wind.

Runs are short and fierce, but progression is forever: every gem you bank buys new ships, colors, trails and permanent upgrades in the hangar, and every score you set competes on the daily, weekly and all-time global leaderboards.

How to play

  1. Press PLAY NOW - the game opens instantly in a new tab.
  2. Use ↑ / ↓ (or tap inside/outside your orbit on mobile) to switch rings.
  3. Collect gold gems to fill the level quota; chain them fast to climb the combo ranks from E to SSS+.
  4. Avoid the red mines - the deeper the red, the worse the news.
  5. Clear the quota, pick an upgrade, ascend. A boss awaits every fifth orbit.
